The Jaguar F-type Coupe is one of the key performance cars of 2014, so naturally we’ve been gagging to drive for some time.

The R version of the Coupe tops the whole F-type range (for now, at least), with the rear wheels driven by the same 404kW supercharged 5-litre V8 engine that powers the XKR-S and XFR-S. There are key electronic and mechanical developments here, though, not least a structure that’s 80 per cent stiffer than that seen in the F-type Convertible.
