Jaguar have announced that the forthcoming F-Type coupe will start from $119,900*, making it almost $20,000 cheaper than its drop-top sibling.

The all-aluminium two-door will be offered in three guises: F-Type, F-Type S, and the new range-topping F-Type R. The latter is powered by a 5.0-litre Supercharged V8 engine that produces 404kW and 680Nm and can accelerate from standstill to 100km/h in 4.2 seconds. Its top speed is a nice round 300km/h. That kind of performance will set buyers back $219,600, or $17,655 more than the F-type V8 S roadster.

Like the entry-level model, however, the $152,300 Jaguar F-Type S coupe undercuts its equivalent convertible on price – this time by $18,745. Both are powered by Jaguar’s 3.0-litre V6 Supercharged petrol engine, which, in the base F-Type, churns out in 250kW and 450Nm and, in the mid-range F-Type S, manages 280kW and 460Nm of torque. Their triple-figure sprint times are 5.3 and 4.9-seconds, respectively, with top speeds of 260- and 275km/h.

The new Jaguar F-type coupe will arrive in Australia in July.
