Marking a century since Zagato Milano came to fruition, production of the Aston Martin V12 Vantage Zagato will commence for a limited time
Though production of the last-generation Vantage came to an end last year, Aston Martin has teamed up with R-Reforged for a revival of the V12 Vantage Zagato to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the design house.
Commissioned by AF Racing AG, a partner in the Valkyrie hypercar project, its new R-Reforged brand will produce 38 new models in addition to the 150 units originally delivered from 2011, consisting of 19 Speedsters and 19 coupes. Zagato will be part of the project, with it running under the exclusive licence of Aston Martin.
Details on the tweaked models are yet to be revealed, but the removal of the roof for the Speedster variant, a set of new wheels and new paint finishes can be seen in images. Overall design does appear to be unchanged, with the iconic, gaping Zagato grille and wrap-around cockpit remaining.
Powertrain information is yet to be disclosed, but should specs stay the same as in the 2011 car, we can’t say we’d be disappointed. The V12 Vantage Zagato features Aston Martin’s glorious 5.9-litre, naturally aspirated V12, producing 380kW and 555Nm of torque for a claimed 0-100kmh time of 4.2sec and a top speed of 305kmh.

Each of the 38 new cars will come to life at Vynamic GmbH, the company responsible for Aston Martin’s Vantage DTM car and a subsidiary of AF Racing AG. Partner of AF Racing AG, Andreas Baenziger, said: ‘We are very proud to establish our brand R-Reforged with such a unique project. An incredible opportunity for all of us.’
Pricing hasn’t been announced, but as the models are sold exclusively as a coupe and speedster pair, we can’t imagine they’ll come cheap.
